Burberry opens new Regent Street Store

Burberry recently opened its largest store in the world on Regent Street in London. The store is over 44,000 (!) square feet and the 'most advanced globally'.

Constructed in 1820 for the Prince Regent, the building has housed galleries, a cinema, livery stables and a radio broadcaster over the course of 200 years.

The most stunning piece of technology in Burberry's flagship store is the use of radio-frequency identification technology (RFID) in some of the clothes. When shoppers wearing the pieces approach one of the magic mirrors, the mirror transforms into a screen that shows runway footage and videos.

"Burberry Regent Street is one of the most architecturally and culturally significant projects we have undertaken," said Burberry chief creative officer Christopher Bailey.
