Sofitel So Singapore Opens Its Doors

The highly anticipated Sofitel So Singapore under the Accor group has officially opened its doors to local and international guests. Set to change the face of Singapore's hospitality scene, Sofitel So Singapore will offer guests a luxury hotel experience that is 'So Singapore', housed within an iconic heritage building built in 1927 on Robinson Road.

Designed by Singapore's only French design house, MIAJA Design Group, led by award-winning designer, Isabelle Miaja, Sofitel So Singapore will reveal 134 exquisitely designed rooms located within a So Hip wing and a So Heritage wing. Exciting features include a light-filled atrium that will welcome guests into a lobby with unique artworks and a captivating hexagonal light installation, called L’Hexagone, a plush 'bed-table' within the stunning restaurant and a glamorous golden-tiled rooftop pool with unsurpassed views of the urban city.

Masterfully-created commissioned objects featuring Karl Lagerfeld's "The Lion's Seal" emblem are spotted throughout the hotel including the BooKube, DoorKnockers on the So Heritage Wing and the bespoke bathrobe en nid d'abeille featuring the red and white 'The Lion's Seal' embroidery. An intimate La BibiloteK decked with a collection of books, curated by the maestro himself, sits beside the Xperience Bar.

"Singapore is an Asian powerhouse – the city of the future. Stories of its history and evolution have inspired me, especially the discovery of the island and the mystical lion it was named after. The lion has historically symbolised courageousness, elegance and leadership. The Emblem is a result of that combined inspiration." Lagerfeld said.

The So Singapore hotel is the third addition to Sofitel So's expanding portfolio. Conceived as a global collection, the two upcoming opening Sofitel So are planned in Mumbai (2015) and Rio (2016).
